On Sept 4th, The Association for Reconciliation and Development celebrates its 20th Anniversary. It was a big day for ARDE for launching its 1st Edition Summer English Speech contest where Youth from English club attendants, High school and college graduates aged between 15 to 30 years-old from Northern commune of Bujumbura use this platform to exhibit their English public speech skills under the theme: Youth financial Education_its importance and Challenges.
These youth presentations were epic beyond Imagination. Here are the Winners of the Sept4th Summer English Speech contest. The 1st Winner price: 750.000 frbu , the 2nd winning price was 500.000frbu 300.000 frbu for the 3rd winner. Each participating contender in this Competition was given school kit material. These Contenders came from 10 identified English clubs operating in the northern commune of Bujumbura. (Buterere, Cibitoke, Gihosha, Kamenge, Kinama and Ngagara).
During this 20th anniversary celebration, ARDE also launched an Initiative called: September 2022 Back to school Initiative. ARDE gave school material kits to 120 students from 6 different schools who had well-performed in their English class at their respective school as an encouragement and a way to inspire other students to do the same.
It was not only English on the schedule but also entertainment featuring amazing traditional Dances and Live Music. Nyabenda Pierre, one of the former ARDE members entertained the audience with amazing songs. So did the traditional team. What a day!
The project was a result of ARDE members self-fund 100%. Willy Uwera, the ARDE legal representative thanked the members for such a servanthood heart.
